NEWS ALERT: Major Retailers Want To Give UMLY Families Money!

Dear UMLY Swim Team Parents:

We're pleased to share some exciting news about a new fundraising program for all UMLY families. It's called "scrip," and it's the fundraising program that works while you shop.

What is scrip?  Simply, "scrip" is "substitute money."  When you purchase scrip, you're purchasing gift certificates and prepaid cards that are used just like cash.  Popular retailers participate in our scrip program including, Marriott Hotels, JC Penney, The Gap, Shell Oil, Applebees, Red Lobster, Home Depot, iTunes, and many, many others. 

How can we raise money with scrip?  It's simple - because scrip is purchased with cash up front, participating retailers offer a substantial discount.  You buy the certificates for full face value, but in turn, get the retail discount.  Discount proceeds are split between your personal escrow account and the swim team.  Much like the "Cash Back DiscoverCard."  With scrip everyone wins:

• The retailer gets cash up front and repeat business
• You get a powerful fundraising alternative that involves NO SELLING
• Proceeds are distributed like the Market Day Program with a percentage to your personal escrow account.

All it takes is a little planning.  Put your household budget dollars to work.  Scrip can be used for just about any purchase including food, clothing, SWIM MEET HOTELS!!!, entertainment, gasoline, dining out, birthday gifts, iTunes, and HOLIDAY PURCHASES. 

Deadline: December 2.  The deadline for the kick off program is December 2.  Just in time for the holidays.  See flyer in your family folder and check Swim Team bulletin board for details.  

Pay by check.  Place order form and check in "Shop with Scrip" envelope in Law Family Folder.  Make checks payable to UMLY Swim Team Parents Association.  Anticipated turnaround time for delivery of gift certificates is about one week.
